About CCMMP

In 1993, the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) agreed to replace the Committee of Government Experts on the Code of Principles concerning Milk and Milk Products (CGECPMMP) with a Codex subsidiary body that would operate along the same lines as other Codex committees. As such, the Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP) was established with New Zealand as its host and terms of reference mandating it “to elaborate international codes and standards for milk and milk products within the framework of the Codex Alimentarius and the Code of Principles concerning Milk and Milk Products.”

At CAC33 in 2010, CAC agreed to adjourn the committee sine die. It was reactivated just a few years later and re-adjourned in 2017. The Committee has been reactivated by CAC48 and will work by correspondence.
