Codex Secretariat participates to the Global Forum for Animal Feed and Feed Regulators

On 14 and 15 November 2023, FAO hosted the Global Forum for Animal Feed and Regulators, and Sarah Cahill, Codex Senior Food Standard Officer, participated to the two-day discussions with technical experts and representatives of national regulatory agencies, among others. The Codex texts recurred in several presentations, highlighting the importance of the organization’s global role in its commitment to safety and quality of animal feed.

“Codex standards are adopted through a multilateral process based in science and trust - Sarah Cahill said - and these exchanges are key to ensure that adopted Codex texts are then implemented at the national level”. Over the past six decades, Codex Alimentarius has played an important role through its Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF), as well as on Pesticide Residues (CCPR), Contaminants in Foods (CCCF) and Food Additives (CCFA), among others.
