Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF)

The Codex Committee for Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Food (CCRVDF) was established in 1983 and works under the auspices of the United States of America.

CCRVDF considers a range of drugs used in the treatment of animals, including antifungal and antiparasitic agents, anthelmintics, insecticides and antibiotics. Antimicrobial resistance has been an issue within Codex since its inception. However, MRLs for antibiotic drugs have also increasingly come under the spotlight in CCRVDF, with commitments to minimize their use detailed in the 2005 Code of practice to minimize and contain antimicrobial resistance (CXC 61-2005).
